- Will there be side leakage? Seepage?
All sizes starting from small have double stitching, making them less prone to side leakage. However, it is recommended to wear well-fitting cotton underwear to more effectively prevent side leakage. The TPU waterproof coating allows gas to circulate but prevents liquid from passing through, so it won’t leak from the other side and stain the underwear. Since each cloth sanitary pad has a certain absorption capacity (for details, please refer to the product page), it is recommended to change them frequently to best prevent side leakage and seepage.
- Do the panty liners also have a waterproof layer?
All six sizes of hannahpad (panty liner, small, medium, large, night-use extended, night-use ultra-extended) come with a TPU waterproof coating.
- How do I wash used hannahpad?
First, rinse off surface menstrual blood with cold water or directly under a showerhead, then use a natural ingredient cleaning agent and gently rub until it lathers. Keep it in a soapy state while soaking in cold water, and it is also recommended to add a little baking soda or percarbonate for enhanced stain removal. When the blood stains are almost out, you can remove it for hand washing or place it in a laundry bag and put it in the washing machine for cleaning. (Note: Do not tumble dry at high temperatures and do not use fabric softener.)
- Can I wring it out?
Please do not twist to wring it dry; it is recommended to fold it in half or in thirds and press it dry, preferably by wrapping it in a clean towel. Alternatively, you can place it in a laundry bag and use a spin dryer (or the spin function of a washing machine).
- What to do on rainy days? Can I use a dehumidifier or a hairdryer?
In case of rainy weather, it is recommended to turn on a dehumidifier to dry it. If you do not have a dehumidifier, in addition to the dehydration methods suggested in point 8 above, you can also use a hairdryer from a certain distance to blow dry it before hanging it up. (Do not get too close to avoid overheating and damaging the cotton fabric.) Important drying tip: Keep it ventilated and make sure it is fully dry before storing it away.
- Why do stains still remain after washing?
The skin-friendly layer and absorbent layer of hannahpad are made of 100% organic light-colored pure cotton, which can accumulate pigments more easily during cleaning compared to fabrics that contain polyester fibers. However, this does not indicate it is unclean. The original manufacturer in South Korea insists on using 100% organic light-colored pure cotton to maintain the advantage of being suitable for sensitive skin, allow users to easily identify cleanliness, and hopes to implement a reduction in microplastics. After combining feedback from many users and conducting practical tests, we recommend using warm water at 40 degrees combined with hannahpad fabric bleach (or general percarbonate powder) during the “soaking” step to enhance stain removal efficacy. We hope users can feel happy using it both physically and psychologically. If you are a perfectionist and tend to be concerned about possible residual colors, we suggest reconsidering before purchasing and considering products made from other materials.
