- Will it leak from the sides? Will there be any seepage?
All sizes above small feature double stitching, making side leakage less likely. However, it is recommended to pair it with well-fitting cotton underwear for more effective prevention of side leakage. The TPU waterproof coating allows gas to pass through while preventing liquid from leaking out on the other side, ensuring it doesn’t stain the underwear. Since each cloth sanitary pad has a certain absorption capacity (please refer to the product page for details), it is recommended to change it frequently for the best prevention of side leakage and seepage.
- Do panty liners also have a waterproof layer?
All six sizes of hannahpad (pantyliner, small, medium, large, night use long, night use extra long) have a TPU waterproof coating.
- How do I wash used hannahpad?
First, use cold water or rinse with a spray nozzle to remove surface menstrual blood, then use a natural ingredient detergent and gently scrub until it foams. Keep it foaming while soaking in cold water, and it is also recommended to add a little baking soda or percarbonate to enhance stain removal. Once the blood stains have loosened sufficiently, it can be hand-washed or put in a washing machine with a laundry bag. (Note: Do not tumble dry at high temperatures or use fabric softeners)
- Can I twist it to dry?
Please do not wring it out; it is recommended to fold it in half or in thirds and press out excess water, preferably using a clean towel to wrap it and press dry. Alternatively, place it in a laundry bag and use a spin dryer (or the spin function of a washing machine).
- What should I do on rainy days? Can I use a dehumidifier or hair dryer?
On rainy days, it is recommended to turn on a dehumidifier to dry it. If a dehumidifier is unavailable, apart from the spin-drying method mentioned in point 8, you can use a hair dryer at a safe distance to blow it dry before air-drying. (Do not get too close to avoid overheating and damaging the cotton fabric) Key points for air drying: Maintain ventilation, and make sure it is completely dry before storing.
- Why is there still color residue after washing?
The skin-friendly layer and absorbent layer of hannahpad are made of 100% organic light-colored cotton, which accumulates pigments more easily than fabrics with added polyester fibers in cleaning. However, this does not indicate it is unclean. The South Korean manufacturer maintains the organic cotton’s advantage for sensitive skin to enable users to easily identify cleaning conditions and hopes to reduce microplastics use, thus insisting on using 100% organic light-colored cotton for years. After considering feedback from many users and actual testing, we recommend using 40-degree warm water in the ‘soaking’ step along with hannahpad’s fabric bleach (or regular percarbonate) to enhance the stain removal effect. We hope users feel happy both in terms of touch and psychologically; if perfectionists are easily bothered by potentially remaining colors, it is recommended to think carefully before purchasing and consider products made from other materials.
