- Will there be side leakage? Will it leak?
Sizes small and above have double stitching, making side leakage less likely. However, it is recommended to wear well-fitting cotton underwear for more effective protection against side leakage. The TPU waterproof coating allows gases to flow while preventing liquids from seeping through, so there won’t be leakage on the other side that can stain the underwear. Since each cloth sanitary pad has a certain absorption capacity (for details, please refer to the product page), it is advisable to change them frequently to effectively prevent side leakage.
- Do panty liners also have a waterproof layer?
All six sizes of hannahpad (panty liner, small, medium, large, night extra-long, and night super extra-long) have a TPU waterproof coating.
- How do I wash used hannahpads?
First, rinse away surface blood with cold water or directly under a shower. Then use a natural ingredient detergent to gently rub until foamy, keeping it soaked in cold water while maintaining lather. It is also recommended to add a little baking soda or sodium percarbonate to enhance stain removal. Once the blood stains are mostly gone, it can be hand-washed or placed in a laundry bag for machine washing. (Note: Do not tumble dry at high temperatures, do not use fabric softeners.)
- Can I twist to dry it?
Please do not twist it dry; it is recommended to fold it in half or into thirds and press dry. It is recommended to wrap it in a clean towel and press it dry together. Alternatively, you can put it in a laundry bag and use a spin dryer (or the spin function of the washing machine).
- What if it rains? Can I use a dehumidifier or hairdryer?
If it’s a rainy day, it is recommended to use a dehumidifier to dry them. If you don’t have a dehumidifier, in addition to the dehydration method suggested in point 8, you can also use a hairdryer from a certain distance to blow it before hanging it to dry. (Do not get too close to avoid overheating and damaging the cotton fabric.) Drying tip: Ensure ventilation and be sure to dry completely before storing.
- Why is there still color residue after washing?
The skin-friendly layer and absorbent layer of hannahpad are made of 100% organic light-colored pure cotton. This type of fabric is different from those containing polyester fibers, and it tends to accumulate pigment more easily during cleaning, but this does not mean it is not clean. The manufacturer in South Korea aims to maintain the benefits of organic pure cotton for sensitive skin, allow users to easily recognize cleanliness, and reduce microplastic usage; they have adhered to using 100% organic light-colored pure cotton for many years. After combining feedback from many users and conducting tests, we recommend using 40-degree warm water for the “soaking” step with hannahpad laundry bleach (or general sodium percarbonate powder) to enhance the de-staining effect. We hope users feel happy both in terms of touch and psychologically; if you are a perfectionist, you may care about the “possible” color residue and feel uncomfortable about it, so we suggest considering other materials before purchase.
